The extra benefits of freecycle

8 Jan

One lady who came to collect plants the other day invited me to pick some plums from her garden. These have been shared with Donna and Gwen. With the offer to collect more plums as they ripen over the next week or two I have used the first batch to make some jam. The lovely octaganal jars came from an op shop visit.
It has been a good chance to let people know what we are doing as a community and I was able to let the lady with the plums know about the councils plans to assist with re-connecting old water tanks. She is wanting to reconnect hers to irrigate her fruit trees. We also talked about chickens as you do and a friend of hers got some from the SPCA in Waikanae so I will let you know if they are still looking to rehome any.

I’ve read some good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how much effort you put to create such a fantastic informative web site.

Thanks for the kind comment Domingo, we are new to blogging down Alexander Road so hadn’t noticed I needed to approve your comment!

We are having a lovely time connecting with our neighbours and as we become more familiar with this blog will update you on our progress.
